20 years in the making....

Nashdale Lane Wines was a dream that started in 1994 in Tuscany, Italy. Sitting in a vineyard in Radda in Chianti having helped with completing their vintage we decided that our own vineyard and winery had to be in our future. We spent many years touring the world experiencing & working in different wine regions always with our minds on our own piece of land to develop our own wines.

Nashdale Lane Wines 60-acre vineyard was established in Orange, NSW, in 2001.  Owner Nick Segger is part of a pioneering UK organic fruit and vegetable farming family and along with his wife Tanya, searched for more than a decade before finding the perfect vineyard. The couple settled on the Orange site owing to its distinct cool climate, high altitude and nutrient-rich, basalt soil. The duo are hands-on at the winery, in the vineyard and at the onsite cellar door - a newly refurbished apple packing shed on the property. The vineyard is planted with 8 varieties of grape that include Chardonnay, Shiraz, Pinot Gris and Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling, Pinot Noir, Tempranillo and Arneis.

Terroir

The vineyard at Nashdale Lane Wines is managed organically and is elevated at 860-900m above sea level. It has rich, nutrient dense basalt soils and produces a broad range of quality, cool climate styles including: Riesling, Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, Sauvignon Blanc, Arneis, Shiraz, Tempranillo and Pinot Noir.

Our Wines

Along with the eight, unique varieties of wine produced at the site, Nashdale Lane Wines has three distinct ranges in its portfolio featuring three different approaches that can be matched to occasion, taste and budget.

Firstly the versatile, crowd pleasing ‘the social’ range by Nashdale Lane is ever popular and includes unique blends such as Blanc (Pinot Gris +Arneis + Sauvignon Blanc), Rouge (Tempranillo + Pinot Noir + Shiraz) & Rosé.

Mainstay ‘Colour Series’ range showcases the vineyard as high quality traditional white and red varietals that can be aged or enjoyed now and includes Pinot Gris, Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Tempranillo and Shiraz.

Finally there is Legacy by Nashdale Lane. Legacy wines are handcrafted from block select fruit with an old world, patient winemaking approach and produced only when Mother Nature and natural forces combine to create a wine of the most exceptionally high standard. Legacy by Nashdale Lane is made to be cellared and/or celebrated. Legacy wines include a Rose, Pinot Noir and Tempranillo.

High country

Orange is historically well known as the fruit bowl of NSW but wine production has evolved over the past 50 years and is now the most prevalent primary industries. The area also proudly boasts one the highest rates of organic viticultural management in the country.

As a cool climate wine growing region Orange can also boast a few world-firsts. It is the only wine growing region in the world to denote it’s geographical indication (GI) by regional boundaries and altitude. To use a GI of Orange, NSW the wine must contain fruit grown in the region at elevation 600 m or above above sea level.
