Hand-picked in the cool of the morning in early April, the harvested grapes were gently whole bunch pressed. Free run and pressings juice were kept separate initially but then blended back together after fining and clarification.
The grapes were fermented in stainless steel with a long cool ferment to retain flavour and varietal characteristics.
Pictured : Arneis vines pruned and ready for the next vintage. Pruning we carry out usually around late August each year. Note the rows that have been turned for planting of mid row crops for spring.
With its rich and smooth mouthfeel, as well as subtle acids, the 2023 Colour Series Arneis can stand up to some richer and more aromatic dishes, such as middle eastern and Italian style roast poultry and seafood dishes, whilst still having enough acid and fresh fruit flavours to pair well with vegetarian bakes and stews, especially those that showcase eggplant, zucchini.
