The 2023 Colour Series Medium Dry Riesling was picked about 7 days later than the 2023 Colour Series Riesling Dry giving it a different flavour profile with softer characteristics of mandarin & orange peel. The grapes were fermented in steel but with approximately 4g/l of residual sugar left. After approximately 4 months the wine was tested and the residual sugar adjusted a further 8g/l. The cooler vintage of 2023 and the high natural acid means this delicious medium dry Riesling can support 12g/l of residual sugar and still maintain a fresh crisp flavour.

The combination of strong, lingering flavours and aromas, as well as balanced acids and a slightly richer mouthfeel than your dry Riesling, make it a very food friendly pairing with anything from pork belly to aromatic Asian dishes. Whilst it has the acid needed to cut through fatty cuts of meat and poultry, it also has the flavour intensity to stand up to strong and aromatic Asian seafood dishes, such as Vietnamese and Thai, whether fresh or fried, the medium dry Riesling will still shine through.
