2019 Legacy Tempranillo
An indulgent Tempranillo with rich tannins owing to its warm, whole berry ferment and daily hand plunging to add extra flavour, texture and colour to the wine. On the palate there are notes of dark cherry, plum and spice while extended time in coarse grain French Oak Puncheons gives it a delicious integrated toasted oak finish. A good choice to drink now paired with charred or smoky grilled meats and richer, fuller flavour foods or tuck it away in the cellar for five to ten years.

Hand selected and picked the 2019 Tempranillo was crushed and cold soaked for 48 hours. The ferment took place in open end barrels using a cultured yeast and the inclusion of whole berries prior to inoculation. The ferment was inoculated and allowed to run hot with daily hand plunging. The wine was pressed and racked to barrel, a combination of new (25%) and old French coarse grain Puncheons were used for maturation. Post maturation select barrels were blended and minimally filtered prior to bottling.
